JOURNEY TO BECOME A PERSONAL TRAINER
Several years ago I began my quest towards a fitness career by putting together programs and meal plans and testing them on men and women of the armed forces as well as someone very critical of personal progress....me! You see, at that moment of my life I was wearing a size 38-40 pant and I weighed an unthinkable 260 pounds... My abdominal circumference was over 40 inches and my body fat was above 30%. I started to become very worried about my personal health and my future in the armed services. I knew I needed to do something and I needed to do it quickly. I took several days to do a self analysis and prepared an amazing program. During the next few weeks, I trained 3-5 times a week and monitored my eating habits very closely. My weight dropped from a whopping 260 lbs to 203 lbs. I lost an incredible 57 pounds in 53 short days. My body fat decreased to just under 10% as well. I replicated this program and have seen incredible success on many different clients of all ages.
With the continuous struggles I face every day with weight gain and my personal physical fitness, I knew that working in the fitness industry could help me win that never ending battle. After a very long conversation with a very strong influence in my life, I enrolled in a fitness and nutrition program. Within several months of study, I became a certified personal trainer. Since then, I have earned a PhD in Kinesiology, my Masters in Nutrition and have worked to help many more people just like myself, reach their individual fitness goals. My goal as a personal trainer and fitness coach, is to provide safe and effective methods of exercising, as well as providing nutritional advice to help facilitate a total body composition change in the shortest time frame possible.
My level of knowledge is extensive. I study and develop new methods every day. I have worked with athletes as well as non-athletes with weight loss, weight gain, toning, strength and conditioning, flexibility, as well as training for martial arts/MMA. Many of my programs can be done in the privacy of your own home. I offer group exercise camps for those of you that want to bring along a couple of friends. For those of you that don't want to lift weights, I offer a complete course in body weight exercises, TRX Suspension training as well as the proper use of a sandbag and fitness bands. For my female clients getting ready for a special event or post pregnancy; I have created a system of nutrition and weight loss that is safe and extremely effective at getting your body back on track.
